Leading our vitally important negotiations both during and after this exciting transition, you will:

* Play a key role in free- trade negotiations for either the EU and International Trade  or the Marine and Fisheries teams. Regardless of which workstream you join, you will be instrumental in supporting a smooth transition process and shaping future potential  within the trade and fishing industries.

* Work collaboratively with senior policy professionals on a number of key policy areas, taking overall responsibility for the successful outcome of   negotiations. Through this work, you will enjoy a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to define how the UK will continue to work with international partners in the immediate and longer term, following the UK leaving the EU.

* Understand complex policy issues, using your expert knowledge to define conversations and inspire dialogue between a wide range of parties, to help find common ground and build sustainable alliances.

* Build a comprehensive network of relationships with stakeholders including Defra senior leaders; EU representatives, third-party nations, industry professionals, cross-departmental colleagues and Ministers.

* Line manage a number of Team Leaders, motivating them to consistently achieve high-quality results. You will lead by example, encouraging your colleagues to learn from any setbacks as well as successes .

With opportunities to travel internationally in order to represent the UK’s interests on a global scale, you will be a flexible team-player with a proactive approach to delivering results. With experience of undertaking the design and implementation of successful professional negotiation strategies, you will communicate openly and with clarity, building trust and rapport with your contacts. You will also have experience of managing the needs and expectations of a wide range of stakeholders, and you will naturally be comfortable making effective decisions in a fast-paced environment.
