LNG is currently the most popular lower carbon fuel, but with bio and e-LNG it could move beyond its current transition fuel status supported by extensive existing infrastructure. Numerous NGOs protested against the IMO earlier this year putting biofuels in its Global Fuel Standard, but the “fuel versus food” debate seems to have been solved by deriving fuels from waste. £111 million port expansion granted dredge licences
A major expansion at one of Scotland’s ports has passed a milestone with the granting of marine and dredging licences.
Floating offshore wind generation in the UK is at a small scale so far, with just two farms operating currently. Scotland now has 14 sites approved for installation over the coming years.
