Danish software developer Teledyne has launched a new application for pile driving guidance and monitoring to help reduce production time on hydrographic survey and dredging and construction projects.

The high-performance Teledyne PDS software has key benefits which include quick accurate GNSS positioning of the pile, visualisation of the pile driving process, increased safety of the piling crew and integration with the other Teledyne PDS applications.

Real time data

The purpose of the PDS software suite is to allow real time reading of data from one or more sensors, enabling an operator to make computations with the data, display the results of the computations and simultaneously log data.

To be able to control those processes, Teledyne has developed a number of different views to display the reading, computations, results and logging processes. The data can be displayed either graphically or alphanumerically.

In operation

During a project, a pile data file with pre-engineering information, such as position and orientation information, is used as guidance during real time operations.

The operator selects the pile to be placed and Teledyne PDS then expertly interprets the environment and will display all relevant information to the user.

A statistic report is created after each pile is placed with custom data items selected by the operator.

With this new pile driving application, Teledyne PDS has introduced a construction plan view with three guidance bars, an online dredge / construction 3D view and a construction bullseye plan view to guide and monitor pile driving.

Teledyne RESON provides a range of high quality underwater acoustic hardware and software solutions for underwater imaging within the Teledyne Marine group.
