Funding opportunities for maritime startups
A new maritime technology investor and venture builder is offering digital startups financial investment, operational support and networking opportunities with established industrial partners.
TecPier GmbH & Co. KG focuses on business models that have the potential to sustainably change the shipping industry and will primarily invest in startups that are in the pre-seed and seed phases.
“We have already identified more than 150 maritime startups and interviewed various founders. We see great potential for the shipping industry, especially in the fields of energy efficiency, online marketplaces and digital process optimisation in the coming years,” said founding partner, Johannes Winkler.
Through partnerships with the Zeaborn Group, BitStone Capital and Inno Real; TecPier has experienced shareholders from the shipping, venture capital and company building sectors.
In addition to ‘Smart Money’ in the form of early-stage funding, TecPier’s portfolio companies can access industry mentors and technology and company growth expertise, innovation workshops, digital technologies, plus the opportunity to take part in the development of digital strategies.
TecPier also has a co-working space in Hamburg, where maritime founders can work on their ideas, brainstorm and network.
Additionally, TecPier will support established companies as an external innovation partner and problem solver for digital transformation processes.
