MB92 focus on business development
The MB92 Group has promoted commercial director Henk Dreijer to the new position of chief business development officer to develop strategic operations with emphasis on sourcing significant refit projects.
The new business development department is expected to help consolidate the quotations and commercial departments across the group, increasing efficiency and ultimately providing greater choice for clients when planning their refit.
Mr Dreijer, who has previously gained experience in MB92’s project department and more recently in his position of quotations director, commented: “This reorganisation is an important step in bringing a seamless service across both of our shipyards and will enable our customers to experience a more efficient quotation and planning process.”
More new departments
As part of the restructure Txema Rubio has been appointed commercial director, and the creation of two additional departments dedicated to customer contracts and after-sales are already in place. These will be run by Mary Clara Batchelor and Paco Sanz, both of whom have been with the company for multiple years.
The changes have been made in anticipation of the next phase of the company’s growth strategy and follows an increase in activity forecasted from the delivery of two shiplifts; the 4,800t in Barcelona in a few months and the 4,000t in La Ciotat in 2022.
Compositeworks and Blohm+Voss La Ciotat, acquired in 2017 and 2018 respectively, have been successfully integrated under the Group umbrella, said MB92.
