Record production for floating wind turbine

The 2MW Floatgen floating offshore wind turbine, equipped with Ideol’s patented floating foundation and installed on the Sem-Rev test site (Atlantic Coast of France), achieved a new record monthly production in February.

Floatgen achieved a capacity factor of 66.3% for a power production of 923.2MWh. With a February time availability of 95.7%, Ideol says its patented technology once again confirms its readiness for commercial-scale deployments, even in severe environments, wherever these may be in the world.

As a reminder, the second half of 2019 saw the floating wind turbine already more than double its first semester power production, reaching an annual total of 6GWh. This number was achieved because of an average time availability exceeding 94.6%.
