Offshore Solution for North Sea operation
Offshore Solutions BV has announced the installation and operation of their third Offshore Access System (OAS) in the Southern North Sea.
The new OAS is installed on the
REM Mermaid
chartered by GDF SUEZ E&P Nederland. The
REM Mermaid
is a multi purpose supply vessel, equipped with a Class Two dynamic positioning system which guarantee the ship’s stable position. This makes it well suited to accommodate the OAS.
The OAS is a heave compensated telescopic gangway, enabling the safe transfer of personnel from a ship to an offshore installation, wind turbine, oil or gas platform. It is designed to operate in 2.5m significant wave height.
Weighing some 24 tons, the OAS will initially be used to connect the vessel to GDF SUEZ E&P Nederland’s K12D and L10L platforms in the Dutch sector of the Southern North Sea (SNS). Four platforms in total are to be serviced by the REM Mermaid and OAS in the coming year, aiming to create a safer and more efficient means of transfer.

Having achieved over 1,300 operational connections with no lost time incidents, we are delighted to announce the successful installation and operation of the third OAS in the SNS onboard the REM Mermaid.’
