New Modular Combi Unit Makes Debut
The Simrad 33 Series has been rejuvenated with the new CX33 combination unit as part of the Simrad CX range.
It boasts the reliability and much of the functionality of the new larger CX34/44/54 NavStationregistered series, but its compact size, with a 6in colour screen, makes it an easier fit on smaller boats where space at the helm may be limited.
The CX33 for 2005 is based on a Satellite Differential GPS-Chartplotter, which can also be delivered as a chartsounder, or upgraded later with an echosounder module.
Simrad is also implementing new screen technology in the 33 Series making it even more suitable for the marine environment. The screen offers reduced glare, a wider viewing angle and a brighter backlight. The 33 Series also has a dedicated Dual Station unit which can be used to expand the systems.
The CX33 supports the new C-MAP MAX chart system.
These next generation electronic charts include many new features never before seen in electronic navigation and make use of larger capacity cartridges to provide greater chart coverage and greater functionality.
With a powerful built-in feature set and robust, waterproof construction, the CX33 is a rugged compact navigation unit, suitable for exposed conditions both in sunlight and darkness on motorboats. Also included in the series is the dedicated EQ33 entry-level echosounder.
