BMT Buys Belgian
BMT Ltd has acquired Belgian based Techmar International NV, the largest technical marine surveying company in Antwerp.
Trinity House is funded from Light Dues levied on commercial shipping in some of the busiest sea lanes in the world, at no expense to the taxpayer. The revenue provides for nearly 600 aids to navigation ranging from lighthouses, buoys and beacons to the latest satellite navigation technology.
To be renamed BMT Techmar NV, it will combine the technical surveying and consultancy expertise of Techmar International with that of another BMT subsidiary, BMT De Beer bv, enabling BMT to offer a Belgium based naval architecture service with specialisations in brown and blue water fleet vessels.
