Car Goes Up at Southampton

As a result of rapid growth in deep sea car trade which has seen volumes more than double since 2000, the ABP Port of Southampton is to get a second multi-deck car park.

The ground breaking agreement strengthens the work being conducted by WWF’s Global Marine Programme on high seas conservation on the ‘open oceans’ outside the exclusive economic zones (EEZs) of national states.

The new £4m facility will complement the Port’s first multi-deck car terminal which opened in 2002. ABP Southampton claims the top spot among UK vehicle handling ports.
