Safety Award for Fugro GEOS
Oceanographic services provider Fugro GEOS Ltd has been awarded a British Safety Council International Safety Award for2004. Only companies with low accident rates are eligible to apply, but winners must also have good safety policies and safety plans and commitment to health and safety at the highest board level. They must detail their health and safety officers qualifications and provide details of significant advances they have made in health and safety for the year.
The bow, some 50m in length and nearly 14m high, was pre-outfitted with cabins and other operational compartments. Upon arrival in Scotland, the steel section was to be off-loaded and moved by transporters for consolidation with the rest of the ship under construction at BAE Systems Naval Ships facility at Scotstoun on the Clyde.
