Dutch gear up for Offshore Energy
The Netherlands will demonstrate that it is a major player in the offshore energy market when the Offshore Energy & Dredging 09 trade fair and seminar takes place in Den Helder on 8 October. Even though the Netherlands plays a smaller role in the North Sea offshore industry than the United Kingdom, there are hundreds of offshore related companies active there.
This business to business exhibition is fully focused on offshore energy, related products and services. Offshore Energy was created by market demand. The Netherlands did not have a specific offshore trade fair until last year but an initiative taken by Development Company Holland North, Navingo sees the second edition of the event come to The Old Navy Yard Willemsoord in Den Helder.
The organizers are expecting more than 100 exhibitors this year and have consequently increased the exhibition floor. Companies already signed up include Vroon Offshore Services and the Damen Shipyards Group.
This year’s seminar will take place in Studio 62 with IRO director Hans P. de Boer serving as chairman for the day. Representatives from Wagenborg Offshore, Technip-EGP and TNO will be among those making presentations on a range of topics which will include research, investment and technological developments in sustainable energy both onshore and offshore.
