Primar ENC Pilot Service
Primar Stavanger , operated by the Norwegian Hydrographic Service , has established a new service under which it will support more than 280 national coastal pilots with remote ENC access.
Measuring 321m LOA, with a beam of 45.6m and 107,200 gross tonnage, MSC Pamela can carry up to 9,200 TEU at a maximum speeds of 25 knots.
Directly integrated into the ENC database, each pilot will be able to access the very latest electronic chart data from any location and thus reduce costs and complexity of distributing information to a workforce continually on the move. Several other nations are reportedly evaluating the service and Primar Stavanger adds that it hopes to be able to offer similar pilot supplier agreements to all its cooperating hydrographic offices.
