Anschutz On Course
The 100th anniversaries of both the gyrocompass and the founding of Anschutz & Co has inspired Kiel, Germany based Raytheon Marine to reinstate the Anschutz name in the companys branding and logo. With effect from the start of this year the company is known as Raytheon Anschutz GmbH, a subsidiary of Massachusetts USA based Raytheon Integrated Defense System.
The contract for the first two SWATH tenders and an option for four more was signed with German shipyard Abeking & Rasmussen in May 2004. The first ship, Cetus, was delivered last October. Perseus, which took 16 months to build, is the seventh boat of its type to be built by A&R.
