Marine Workers Support
The Hampshire UK based Marine, Engineering andManufacturing Skills (MEMS) Partnership has launched a programme to supportemployees whose jobs are at risk or whoface being made redundant within theseindustries.
The managing director of the Port of Kiel (SEEHAFEN KIEL GmbH & Co KG), Dirk Claus said, ‘This is an important step in the development of our port. Container handling represents a new business sector for Kiel.’ The programme offers a brokerage service linking ‘pre-redundant’ people with companies that have a vacancy, setting up work placements and offering training to overcome skills deficits for the new roles.
