International ENC Cooperation
The Norwegian Hydrographic Service (NHS), operator of the Primar Stavanger electronic navigational chart service, has signed a distribution agreement for Japanese ENCs with the Japan Hydrographic Association.
The combination, built for the Office for Rural Development in Husum, North Germany, comprises two elements; the 32.5m long push boat/oil skimmer Odin and the 30m long oil tanker barge Luttmoor.
These Pacific ENCs meet seamlessly with American NOAA ENCs, also available from Primar Stavanger, which will also be able to distribute ENCs of the Malacca and Singapore Straits under the new agreement. Such international cooperation aims to spread ENCs worldwide via efficient and secure distribution mechanisms.
