EVIMAR A/S shareholders include British Maritime Technology Ltd, which has recently opened a subsidiary office in Belgium called BMT De Beer bv. The new office is strategically located at Stabroek, near the Antwerp port area and with connections to Vlissingen, Gent Terneuzen, and Zeebrugge.
Vagverket Farjerederiet has recently put its most modern car ferry into service. The Venus is 86.2m LOA, displaces 840 tonnes and has a total load capacity of 340 tonnes. Built in Finland by Uudenkaupungin Tyovene OY, it will operate between Ljustero and Ostana in Stockholm. ‘We want to be leaders in the environmental field, said the ferry company’s technical director Mikael von Zweigbergk.
