Award winner ACE in place in Norway

The company has also just announced that it has created a new company in Norway as a natural extension to its presence there.

The award will be presented at ACE Winches’ premises later in the year by Clare Russell, the Lord Lieutenant of Banffshire, as The Queen’s representative. The Queen will also invite representatives from the company to an evening reception at Buckingham Palace.

This year’s international trade award recognises companies that have demonstrated growth in overseas earnings.

Business has grown for ACE winches since 2003, when it had 25 employees and a turnover of £1.8m. ACE now employs 147 staff and has a projected combined turnover of £16m by October of this year, with 75% of that turnover realised from international activities and sales.

ACE Winches new company in Norway, ACE Winches Norge AS, is focused upon maintaining and enhancing ACE’s Scandinavian business activities. The new office provides a stronger presence in a key market and will provide the best possible support for existing and new customers.

Operating from a base at Dusavik, Stavanger, the division offers spooling and hire fleet services and will also be providing vessel bollard pull testing. It will also act as a local showcase for ACE’s manufactured product range. The base comprises a 500 sq/m workshop and 1,000 sq/m yard facility.

Norwegian base manager, Finn B Wold, believes the firm is well placed to take advantage of improving economic conditions. He said, ‘ACE Winches was already well established in the local market, where it enjoyed a reputation for delivery of quality products and services. This new facility is a natural extension of its presence in Norway.’
