Svitzer tugs survey
(UK) Selex Elsag, a Finmeccanica company, through the UK Marine Division, has won a contract from the tug operator Svitzer to carry out annual radio and AIS surveys on all of its 90 UK based vessels.
Svitzer operates from sixteen locations around the United Kingdom, many of which align closely with Selex Elsag Marine’s regional office network.
To comply with statutory regulations, vessels must undergo an annual radio survey and AIS survey. These ensure all mandatory radio safety equipment is fully functional and fitted with in-date batteries to safeguard operations should the vessel encounter difficulties.
The work will be done by Selex Elsag Marine radio surveyors, who are qualified and fully equipped to carry out the survey work. Reports and findings are sent to Lloyds Register for issuing the relevant annual certificate on behalf of the UK authorities.
