A decade of innovation at Seawork
Over the past 14 years, some 90,000 visitors have flocked to Seawork – now firmly established as the international commercial marine exhibition where the industry buys, sells, negotiates and collaborates.
In 2012, Seawork’s 15th year, there will be more exhibitors (500+), more vessels (60+) and more visitors (7000+) than ever before. To enhance its appeal to the commercial marine industry, Seawork has kept in step with industry changes and developments, embracing offshore renewable power and providing, through the Innovations Showcase and Awards, an opportunity for companies of all disciplines and dimensions to benefit from the increasingly international profile of the exhibition.
Innovations Showcase rewards endeavour
The Innovations Showcase, judged in six categories, will be celebrating its 10th year in 2012. Over 40 exhibitors will feature in the Seawork 2012 showcase, sponsored by the British Fluid Power Association. Entries include the MaXccess system for accessing offshore wind turbines from OSBIT Power (stand R4), the TALON anchor and deck-mounted stowing tray for small craft from Maricuda (stand SB77), the STS3000 drive system which isolates the engine from propeller thrust from Italian Unimec (stand A245) and the Stabilis Electra 18BR-2X, the first stabilisation system in the world to be actuated with an electrical motor, from Marine & Industrial Transmissions (stand A91).
Each of the six categories is accorded a winning entry with the overall winner of the showcase being presented with the iconic Seawork Spirit of Innovation Trophy. The Awards will be announced and made at the Seawork Innovation Awards dinner at Southampton’s De Vere Grand Harbour hotel on the evening of Tuesday 22 May.
