Damen Stan pontoon on order
Italy’s Ocean Koper d.o.o. is expanding its fleet with a second Damen Stan Pontoon barge, expected to be the largest pontoon in the region.
The Damen Stan Pontoon 9127, which will be 91.5m in length and have a beam of 27.4m, will be equipped with customised options prior to final delivery.
“There will be a few smart options added to the pontoon and some features, such as the ballast system, tailored to Ocean Koper’s operations,” said Andrew Tervisan, sales manager, Damen.
This will be the second barge purchased by Ocean Koper from Damen. The towage company that provides offshore support services was established in 2005 and acquired the P9 barge, a Damen Stan Pontoon 7524, in 2010.
Ocean Koper’s current fleet consists of two Anchor Handling Tugs, two tugs that are regularly involved in short-sea-towage-operations and two cargo barges.
Delivery of the pontoon is expected before mid-July.
