New safety first digital radio
Icom UK has revealed the new IC-F3202DEX ATEX Digital Series to keep workers safe in potentially explosive and dangerous environments.
The radio provides a basic conventional operation as well as a dPMR Mode 2 multisite radio system. It features a lone worker and man down function which automatically sends an emergency signal if a worker is in trouble.
Danger from explosive gases and combustible dust found in oil, mining and chemical industries pose threats to workers on a daily basis. Icom says its IC-F3202DEX is a reliable means of communication in these dangerous environments.
Providing protection against dust and water the IC-F3202DEX series can withstand 1m depth of water for 30 minutes and its construction is able to shut out powder dust, sand and other small particles.
The battery, BP-277EC Li-ion, provides up to 21 hours of operating time, with a power save option. As well as an optional HM-203EX waterproof speaker-microphone.
Icom says it is perfect for use as an analogue ATEX system and is ready for future digital migration if buyers want to add radios to fleets over time.
