Oceanology International 2018 issues final call for speakers
Oceanology International 2018 has issued a call for abstracts by 15 September for the opportunity to speak at its conference.
Technologists, scientists, engineers and experts in their field are invited to submit a 300-word proposal on topical specialist subjects which reflect the conference’s focus areas.
Speakers selected for the three-day conference in March will be able to showcase their knowledge amongst more than 7,500 marine professionals, government and academia from around the world.
New topics
The 2018 conference is introducing a new underwater imaging and metrology track; a stronger focus on sensor technology in the ocean observation and sensing track; and a look at the technologies driving operational and cost efficiencies for the offshore oil and gas sector in the oil & gas track.
Papers are welcomed on ocean information and communications technology. Submissions in this area should focus on the technology required to acquire and safely transmit data offshore as well as analysis of managing, analysing and storing large databases for real time feedback into projects or for future use.
Papers will also be considered on returning topics including unmanned vehicles and vessels; hydrography, geophysics and geotechnics; navigation and positioning; ocean observation & sensing; monitoring structural integrity; marine renewables; and aquaculture.
Flexible focus
The content of the abstracts can range from explanations of new developments and applications to sharing user experiences.
Submissions will be reviewed in October.
Oceanology International 2018 will take place from 13-15 March at ExCeL London.
