Alnmaritec WFSV on course for Seawork

The vessel recently reached a significant milestone when the hull was turned, enabling the wheelhouse to be mounted.

The yet-to-be-named boat will be the fifth 19m Wave Captain built by Alnmaritec and the second for a long term client.

Chris Millman, managing director, Alnmaritec, explained: “The Wave Captain design features the latest high efficiency hull form developed by the Alnmaritec design department with CFD and model testing support. This has proved very successful with these boats demonstrating exceptional sea keeping characteristics and superb handling when approaching and pushing up on the wind turbines.”

He pointed out that the design-led approach of Alnmaritec has seen the company remain at the forefront of developments in the Wind Farm Support Vessel (WFSV) market.

The company has been designing and building boats for the sector for over 10 years. In that time it has listened to its clients and the wider market and its designs have evolved at pace as a result.

Mr Millman dded: “In addition, we have recently developed some new designs for larger WFSV’s, aiming at the market for the class approved 24m designs which we anticipate coming to the forefront over the next few months as the operator’s requirements evolve ever further.”
