In ceremonies on the Van der Velden Marine Systems stand at Europort Maritime in Rotterdam last month, the wraps were pulled off an Effer 130 4S marine crane to signify the signing of an exclusive agreement for Van der Velden to distribute Effer marine cranes in the Netherlands and Germany.
After being incorporated by the Italian industrial group CTE, Effer has reorganised its two marine crane manufacturing sites, both near Bologna at Castelmaggiore and Minerbo.
Some of the hydraulic cranes in the Effer range have been re-engineered, resulting in the introduction of new model designations. Variants of knuckle boom, telescopic and stiff boom configurations extend up to a standard capacity of 225 t/m (the Effer Type 275000), with higher capacities available to order.
Effer cranes add to an extensive range of marine equipment already distributed by Van der Velden and will receive the company's same 24/7 service support.
