Fender fest
French fender specialist Ocean 3, which has announced that it will be exhibiting at Mercator Medias Seawork International 2015, has recently been awarded a number of important contracts for the design and manufacture of anti-intrusion foam filled barriers.
The barriers will be supplied for the French naval bases of Cherbourg and Toulon. With the addition of a contract for the conception and build of 4 large buoys for the mooring of cruise ships for the port of St. Malo, 2015 looks to be a record breaking year.
The company provides vessel fendering systems, buoys and floating foam fenders. The last 6 months has seen growth in the company’s pilot boat fendering systems, with fendering being fitted to newly-built pilot boats destined for La Coruna, Belfast, Genoa, Norway, Denmark, Saudi Arabia, Suez, and Australia.
Ocean 3 was awarded 1st Prize for Best Exporter 2014 in Leadexport’s “Europe & Mediterranean sector” by the regional Chamber of Commerce of Northern France. This recognised especially the hard work in relocating and rebuilding the company since a devastating factory fire in December 2013.
The fender specialist will be exhibiting at Seawork on stand A249, showcasing its vessel fendering systems (pilot, patrol, offshore crew, and windfarm), buoys and foam filled fenders. Also, as usual, a few vessels on the pontoons will be equipped with Ocean 3’s fendering systems.
