Another Boluda purchase confirmed

Six ‘modern and powerful’ French-flagged vessels will join the fleet of 40 vessels, each with an experienced French crew.

Boluda says the acquisition will enhance its capacity to act in offshore spills incidents because of Les Abeilles’ equipment and technology. 

“Boluda Towage will also emerge as a new key player in the wind energy markets, supporting the construction and maintenance of offshore wind farms,” it says.

Four tugs will be going to Boluda, a multi-purpose vessel and an AHTS tug. Three of the tugs are based at Brest, Cherbourg and Boulogne; one is at Toulon; the multi-purpose vessel is also at Toulon and the AHTS tug is at Cherbourg.

The purchase comes hot on the heels of Boluda’s buy-out of SMS Towage, announced at the end of May.
