Cost rockets for major port transformation

A multi-million euro engineering project to transform the Italian Port of Genoa has had its first stone laid – as the cost estimates for the works shot up by 30%.

From €930 million in October, costs have now shot up to €1.3 billion - but the consortium behind the work is calling the project ‘the dream of a country that thinks of its future’.
