Seafarers are Key Workers: Essential to Shipping, Essential to the World" - Day of the Seafarer - 25 June 2020

The 2020 #DayoftheSeafarer pays tribute to unsung heroes of the COVID-19 pandemic: the seafarers who continue to carry essential goods despite facing tremendous challenges, including being stranded on board.

Organised by IMO, this year's campaign calls on governments to take action and formally recognise seafarers as key workers.

At St Kitts and Nevis International Ship Registry, we are delighted to support International Maritime Organization Day of the Seafarer’s #SeafarersAreKeyWorkers campaign by donating $5 from every new provisional registration from today until the end of the year, to The Mission to Seafarers to support and thank our seafarers who kept medical provisions and trade flowing internationally during #covid19.

Mr. Liam Ryan - International Registrar of Shipping and Seamen at St Kitts & Nevis International Ship Registry, said: “Seafarers are everyday heroes. We are so pleased to be able to donate $5 from provisional registrations for supporting our seafarers, who have played a vital role during these difficult times.
