Suzuki displayed its new portable outboards, the DF4A, DF5A and DF6A, at Seawork International in Southampton.

The lightweight outboards feature a new three-way stowage system and are designed for use by emergency services or rapid response teams.

Alongside this, a number of boat builders including Ribcraft and Gemini Boats, made their Seawork debut showcasing a range of Suzuki packages and the Wheelyboat Trust exhibited its popular Suzuki-powered Coulam V20 wheelchair accessible boat.

George Cheeseman, head of marine for Suzuki GB, said: “We feel privileged that so many commercial partners such as Ribcraft, Solent RIB Charters and Sea Start choose to be powered by Suzuki. This has helped us achieve the number one four stroke position in Europe.”

He continued: “With Suzuki core technologies such as selective rotation, drive-by-wire, electronic fuel injection down to 15hp along with over 50 years of manufacturing know-how, means our outboards and boat partners are able to offer market-leading solutions to meet commercial requirements.”

Suzuki representatives were on hand throughout the show to answer questions and demonstrate the benefits of Suzuki’s core technologies.

These included Suzuki’s Lean Burn fuel control technology which predicts fuel needs according to operating conditions then delivers the optimum fuel/air mixture to the engine, across the entire rev range.
