October was another busy month for Young CEDA, with CEDA board members joining 25 students and young professionals at an event specially organised by vessel builder Royal IHC designed to give them insight into dredging and marine construction.
Introductory presentations were followed by a guided tour at the IHC yard, which included an extensive on-site preview of the self-propelled mega-cutter dredger Helios, which is scheduled for delivery next year. The group was also treated to a tour of the company’s shipyard in Kinderdijk, where they were given the opportunity to observe an LNG fueled hopper dredger on the slipway. A very full day ended with networking and drinks for the Young CEDA members, many of whom experienced their first time aboard a dredging vessel.
Young CEDA would like to thank Royal IHC for hosting the event.
