Autopilot gets colour display
Japanese marine electronics major Furuno has introduced a colour display for its NavPilot Control Unit. Also, the cosmetics of the NavPilot 711C have been redesigned cosmetically to provide a better match with Furunos flagship line of NavNet TZtouch MFDs.
While the control head is completely new, Furuno has matched it with the field-proven NavPilot Processor Unit (FAP7002), which means the NavPilot 711C delivers unique Furuno Autopilot features, including “Fantum Feedback,” “SafeHelm,” and “FPS” (Furuno Power-assist Steering). This pairing provides an NMEA2000 certified pilot. The NavPilot 711C works with a wide variety of boats and engines, with inboard or outboard engines. It also has the capability to work with Volvo Penta IPS and Yamaha Helm Master Systems.
The new systems replace the current NavPilot 711 monochrome models. However, while Furuno has upgraded the system, they are delighted to report that they’ve been able to keep the price the same as the outgoing monochrome units. The larger-sized display NavPilot 700 models remain current and available for purchase.
