DP training enhanced
Aberdeen, UK- based marine industry services company C-Mar Group have announced that it has installed and commissioned state-of-the-art Rolls-Royce Icon dynamic positioning simulators at its DP Training Centres in London and Mumbai. The new simulators are being used to deliver advanced DP courses run at both facilities.
Although the industry standard Nautical Institute Simulator Training Course permits training on just one system, the acquisition of the Rolls-Royce simulators further demonstrates the company’s commitment to setting new standards of excellence in DP training for the global marine sector.
C-Mar is unique in being the only global DP training organisation with different manufacturers equipment in all its regional training centres: London, Mumbai, Croatia, Singapore and Brazil. Students benefit from the use of a multiple simulators to develop and strengthen their knowledge and skills. This, C-Mar claims, instils greater confidence in practical operation and gives a deeper understanding of how DP controls work to deliver the vessel’s task, from dive support and anchor handling to platform supply and drilling operations.
