Knuckle booms for Transocean
Austrian deck crane specialist Palfinger Marine has delivered a second PK 150002 MB crane to Transocean. The crane has an outreach of 8.9m and a lifting capacity of 9.5t, the main purpose will be general lifting and hoisting on a drillship.
The PK 150002 MB comes with an external control stand and meets the latest DNV and ATEX requirements. Earlier this year the biggest Palfinger Marine PFM 4500 ME heavy duty foldable knuckle boom crane was delivered to Transocean Ltd., a project which was executed in cooperation with the UK partner Outreach Ltd. Purpose again is general lifting and hoisting with a capacity of 20 t at 14 m.
Bernd Huemer, Palfinger’s sales manager for offshore cranes said “We are very proud about the long-term relationship with Transocean, who have many PALFINGER MARINE cranes already installed on all kind of rigs for different kind of purposes and hopefully many more to come”, Due to the good partnership, further upcoming orders are expected.
Palfinger Marine is a manufacturer of marine, offshore and wind cranes as well as launch and recovery systems and boats.
