Marine approved full travel keyboard
Belgium’s NSI have announced a new keyboard, ruggedised, it claims, for the most demanding jobs in marine environments.
The new launch is a 92 key backlit keyboard series (RKCT92) featuring a compact multi-functional rubber keyboard with integrated trackball and scroll function. The 25 mm laser trackball with removable top ring is designed to facilitate the cleaning of the ball and ball compartment without extra tools.
The key legends are backlit using high brightness LEDS. Using low power LEDs assures an extended life time for the backlighting. An external power supply is not necessary; the power from the USB keyboard port being sufficient. A non-backlit version is also available.
The IEC 60945 marine certification for this keyboard series will follow soon.
The full travel rubber keys are proven for reduced disinfection time and efficient cleaning in wet, dirty and corrosive environments. The durability of rubber makes it is difficult to damage the keys, NSI claims.
The keyboard is available in a front panel mount version or as enclosed version, is rated at IP67 waterproof and has a single USB output cable.
