Reflex crew transfer capsule delivered to Nigeria
Reflex Marine, a global leader in safe marine transfer solutions to the offshore, marine and renewable sectors, has supplied the first production unit of the newly developed FROG-XT4, to Total E&P Nigeria Ltd.
The FROG-XT4 provides greater comfort and safety to passengers, wider operating parameters, and higher capacity transfers. Its compact frame allows for easy storage and cost effective shipping.
An estimated one million safe crew transfers are carried out every year using the Reflex Marine’s FROG and TORO devices.
Kate Twitchen, business manager for Nigeria , Reflex Marine, said: “Reflex Marine has worked with Total for over fourteen years, providing safer crew transfer solutions. Selling the first FROG-XT4 into this region is a step in the right direction to further enhance the safety and performance of Total’s crew transfer operations.”
The sale was made through Reflex Marine’s nominated representative in Nigeria, Precision Logistics Ltd, which offers local support and servicing to increase the safety of offshore personnel transfer.
The newest addition to Reflex Marine’s range, the FROG-XT4 now has lifting points are at eye level, making them easier to access and inspect, and a new stretcher mounting system enables rapid deployment in a medical evacuation situation (MedEvac).
Reflex has previously provided a number of FROG and TORO units to Total. The latest unit will be used on the Odudu Field.
A second FROG-XT4 unit is destined for Mozambique for another international operator.
Meanwhile, the company is looking to launch a higher capacity version of the product, the FROG-XT10, to the market in the coming months.
