Brazilian order for Saab Seaeye
UK’s Saab Seaeye, which claims to be the world’s largest manufacturer of electric ROVs, is to supply Oceanica, the leading Brazilian subsea engineering company, with two of its Falcon multifunction ROVs featuring a high-resolution colour camera on a 180-degree tilt platform and a depth rating of 300m.
Both systems will be used by Oceanica for general inspection operations in shallow waters on behalf of Petronas, the Brazilian national energy organisation. The company, which specialises in the installation and maintenance of underwater structures, says it chose the Falcon ROVs for their proven reliability and performance. It is currently building two shallow dive support vessels, with a third planned for engineering projects.
