MMT Cable Route Survey Contract
MMT of Gothenburg has been awarded a contract by Svenska Kraftnat for surveys of the existing high voltage Sjalland cable route across the Oresund between Sweden and Denmark, which is due for renewal at some stage.
Studies for investigating and verifying the feasibility of a new route involve bathymetry, surface geology and a review of subsea conditions for which MMT will carry out geotechnical investigations as well as cable tracking and identification of cable crossings. Offshore operations will be completed aboard the company’s survey and ROV vessel, Icebeam, while a sister vessel, Seabeam, will be used for coastal surveys.
MMT has recently added a DP2 offshore craft, Stril Explorer, to its fleet of vessels.
