PSM analogue programmable transmitters approved
PSM Instrumentation has been awarded Marine Type Approval from DNV GL for its new Analogue Pressure Transmitters (APT) which can offer a cost-effective alternative to alternative tank level transmitters.
These APT transmitters, which are suitable for marine, industrial and hazardous area applications, have demonstrated that they are fit for purpose and meet the required environment and performance criteria during the Approval process.
“We believe that our APTs offer a new alternative tank level transmitter solution and are pleased that they’ve been recognised as compliant to give customers further confidence in our product range,” said Mark Jones, sales and marketing manager, PSM Instrumentation.
New range
The new range includes Level Transmitters and Pressure Transmitters. Both are available in stainless steel, titanium, and hastelloy materials for compatibility with all mediums and offer measurement ranges from 0.2 to 40 Bar in both Gauge pressure and Absolute pressure versions.
PSM said that factory calibration to specific requirements and integral temperature compensation ensure excellent accuracy for customers.
The company is known for its 260 Series level transmitters (http://www.maritimejournal.com/news101/onboard-systems/monitoring-and-control/tank-level-transmitters-order) which are in service on all four vessels of the UK Royal Navy’s River class design and subsequent variations, three vessels of the Omani Navy’s Khareef Class and three vessels of Brazil’s Amazonas Class.
PSM’s 260 transmitter provides reliable and accurate monitoring of liquid levels in shipboard tanks and PSM says its robust construction affords low maintenance costs.
