Mobilis factory visit showcases quality

During the visit to the factory in Aix-en-Provence, Hydrosphere staff were shown the rota-moulding machines, which are only used by Mobilis to make floats for buoys, unlike other suppliers who use them to produce a range of other plastic items.

With an aluminium factory and paint shop also on site, Mobilis, which designs, develops, manufactures and distributes aid to navigation equipment, use their quality production methods and high-grade materials to produce the buoys in-house, on time and to a high standard.

A highlight for Hydrosphere’s new members of staff was the chance to assemble a buoy with Moblis onsite.

“This eye-opening experience takes training to a whole new level; as seeing a JET 2500 buoy completed in less than half an hour, is a true testament to the efficiency of the Mobilis team,” said Hydrosphere.

High quality materials

The materials used by Moblis are also highlighted as an example of its competence.

“The polyethylene is rated UV22 structural and ultraviolet stabilised, which they use as standard on their products, this gives the buoy floats a fifteen-year colour life in UK latitudes,” explained Moblis. “This is important under IALA regulations, as buoys have to keep their colour and are only allowed to fade by a small amount before they must be replaced.”

This attention to quality provides Hydrosphere with the confidence to recommend Mobilis products to its own clients with the knowledge that they are more than fit for purpose.

Customer customisation and alterations to the different components is equally not an issue, as the team at Mobilis are adept at designing specifications to suit customer needs and are never afraid of a new challenge.
