FloWave visit

During the afternoon of 23rd June 2015 up to 25 conference attendees will receive a unique opportunity to visit the FloWave Ocean Energy Research Facility – the first and only one of its kind in the world.

There is no extra charge to attend the site visit, but spaces are limited and allocated on a first come first served basis.

The FloWave Ocean Energy Research Facility houses a 25 metre circular pool that can recreate complex waves and fast currents for offshore project sites around the world.

Able to replicate normal, challenging and extreme events at scale within its fully instrumented circular test tank, the FloWave Ocean Energy Research Facility enables industry and academia to refine concepts, de-risk designs and improve performance in a fully controllable and safe way at relatively low cost. Designs can be tested privately at FloWave and then deployed ‘right first time’ in the ocean, saving both money and time, and potentially reputation too.
