Offshore energy leader joins Opergy
Opergy has appointed an offshore energy expert as commercial director as it celebrates its first anniversary.
Martin Dronfield has joined the East Anglia-based energy sector consultants, following his departure from James Fisher Marine Services.
Johnathan Reynolds, Opergy’s managing director and co-founder, said: “Martin is an exciting addition to the Opergy team bringing a wealth of experience and skills that will embed us even further into the market. There is lots to do and we are already looking at some significant projects in the pipeline.”
High profile
Mr Dronfield is well known in the offshore wind sector for driving James Fisher Marine Services to secure major contract wins which include the Galloper offshore services contract and multiple contracts with ScottishPower Renewables East Anglia One.
He will bring valuable experience to the company in a consultancy role as well as developing Opergy’s network of associates to deliver commercial contracts.
Opergy is celebrating its first year of trading under its name following a management buy-out in 2019.
Led by Johnathan Reynolds and Kim Duffy, the business is currently working with EDF Energy on its new Sizewell C plans and Net Zero community programmes; is a founding partner of Hydrogen East, driving the emerging hydrogen sector across East Anglia; and is working with Renewable UK to lead the delivery of the Offshore Wind Sector Deal’s people and skills work, promoting increased diversity and jobs growth throughout the UK.
