RenewableUK is welcoming the decision by James Fisher Marine Services (JFMS), part of James Fisher and Sons plc, to become a Sponsor Member of the trade association.
The company has been a member of RenewableUK since 2011 and its step up to the highest tier of membership reflects the huge growth in the company’s offshore wind activity in recent years.
In support of the industry-wide drive to reduce the cost of offshore wind, JFMS launched an integrated services model that offers the breadth of services within the James Fisher group through a single interface to reduce the costs and risks linked with managing multiple suppliers in the offshore renewables industry.
JFMS has developed a number of offshore wind specific advancements to accelerate the sector, including the award-winning Offshore Wind Management System that provides real-time data to ensure the safe, efficient and economic management of offshore wind farms.
The company has bases all around the UK including Grimsby, Lowestoft, Liverpool, Falmouth and Aberdeen –with bases further afield in parts of Europe and the Asia-Pacific.
JFMS has recently been selected to provide coordination and communications during the construction of the new 950 megawatt (MW) Moray East offshore wind farm off the coast of Scotland. The company has previously worked on a number of UK offshore wind farms including Galloper, Triton Knoll and London Array, as well as projects in other parts of the world.
