Propeller specialists return to Seawork
Long time Seawork attendees Clements Marine have seen rapid growth in the commercial sector in the last few years.
Amongst the vessels to be seen on Seawork’s floating pontoon this year, those built by Goodchild Marine Services, BW Seacats Ltd, Gardline Marine, Safehaven Marine, South Boats and Blyth Workcats Ltd have all been supplied by Clements Marine.
Clements Marine products are designed and manufactured using modern CAE techniques in their Bedfordshire, UK plant. With their improved in-house facility they are now able to produce propellers up to 1,500mm diameter.
Propeller design makes a significant difference to the working of a vessel and Clements Marine propellers provide a number of vitally important benefits for vessels. Recent testing on several different craft have indicated improved speed, more efficient use of fuel, reduced sound levels as well as less wear and tear on the engines. These are essential factors for hard working commercial vessels, minimising down time and repairs.
Clements Marine has been appointed to supply propellers to the Royal National Lifeboat Institution (RNLI), for their 44 strong fleet of Severn class lifeboats. The lifeboats are used in the toughest offshore conditions saving lives at sea and are known for their excellent sea keeping ability and manoeuvrability. The contract was awarded following extensive testing in association with the RNLI’s engineering team.
Clements has recently won the contract to supply a 22.5m monohull craft built by Lyme Boats for Inchcape Shipping Services, Dubai and also three P&O catamaran wind farm service support vessels. These vessels provide invaluable support to the wind turbines, taking maintenance crews and equipment out to sea 365 days a year. All the equipment supplied has been approved for Lloyds certification.
Clements Marine has recently supplied the stern gear and propulsion package for an Aquastar/Nelson Pilot Boat. The Aquastar/Nelson 40 Pilot Launch produces operating speeds up to 25 knots and this latest order is currently being built as a French Pilot Launch operating out of Boulogne and Calais.
Clements Marine is an approved supplier to the Russian Rivers Authority. They supply to vessels throughout the world built under special service craft rules such as those of Lloyds Register of Shipping, DNV, and Germanischer Lloyd.
