Real time vessel tracking technology launched

Through secure access to the SafeTrx cloud, SafeTrx Flotilla allows fleet, event or rental users to track specific vessels that are using the SafeTrx Mariner mobile app. Users can view the locations of their vessels in real time on the SafeTrx Flotilla website.

Individual registration

Each vessel is registered on an individual SafeTrx account. At setup stage, the vessel MMSI or other unique identifier is supplied to SafeTrx. That unique ID is used to identify and filter vessels on the website.

Vessel skippers can create a ‘Track Only’ or ‘Sail Plan’ mode trip on their app. The technology will display the last known position and track for registered vessels as reported by SafeTrx.

Safehaven Marine used the SafeTrx Flotilla website to create a dedicated public website to highlight its ‘Long Way Round’ circumnavigation of Ireland and Rockall in 2017, while KNRM, the Royal Netherlands Sea Rescue Institution, also used SafeTrx Flotilla Event as a race tracking website for the 2017 West Coast Challenge.
