A close look at SMITs first big cat
A brief news item in Tugs & Towing in July of this year reported the completion of Smit Panther, the first of Damen Shipyards’ new ASD Tug 3213 terminal tugs and the first of a quartet of identical vessels for Smit International. At the time tug had completed exhaustive trials in Viet Nam and was en route to Rotterdam but the ink was barely dry on that report when the tug was diverted to Italy to serve the new Adriatic-LNG offshore gas facility.
