‘Atco Noura’

The vessel, which is designed with an operational area of up to 150 miles offshore has a cruising speed of 18 knots. She is a versatile design, capable of carrying out a wide range of duties in all weathers, with a full complement of 19 personnel. The vessel is subdivided below main deck into 6 watertight compartments offering a high standard of accommodation both above and below deck.

The wheelhouse and observation house are situated above all other superstructure for optimum visibility. The hull was developed through extensive tank testing and CFD analysis, carried out at CTO (Centrum Techniki Okretowej) in Poland too give a stable working platform with enhanced sea-keeping abilities whilst maximizing the efficiency to deliver the greatest speed. The requirement for a high speed vessel with steel hull form led to many challenges within the design and construction process, but all parties are proud of the finished product.

Macduff believes that this design highlights the company’s ability to develop original, fresh and innovative designs in new types of vessels to meet and exceed the needs and demands of the commercial market. The design and build of the vessel has also further consolidated the working relationship between Macduff Ship Design and the builder Tor Marine in Turkey.
