Marine Supply Chain Conference

The UK government commissioned UK Marine Supply Chain Study has been conducted by the Southampton Marine & Maritime Institute, and the Conference will deliver the findings of the five-month study. It will also set out the report’s recommendation for future action, outline practical advice and provide marine businesses with case studies to learn from. It will demonstrate how companies of all sizes can grow and exploit the array of opportunities open to them, as well as help tackle the very real threats to the supply chain’s future.

The programme includes key figures from government and the marine and maritime sectors, including Daniel Harrison from the Department for Business, Innovation & Skills (BIS) and Professor Douglas Macbeth, Southampton Marine & Maritime Institute. The automotive sector and a range of business support agencies will also be represented by the Society of Motor Manufacturers & Trust (SMMT), Innovate UK and others.

Udo Kleinitz, Head of Technical at the British Marine Federation commented on the conference: “The UK Marine Supply Chain Study has been a major piece of work and as the trade association for the industry we are delighted to have been fully involved.
