Owners Representative appointment for Mainprize newbuild

Marine MAC has announced that it has secured its first contract with Mainprize Offshore Limited as Owners Representative, supplying build management and technical oversight on its next CTV, ‘MO5’.

Building a vessel is rarely smooth sailing but Marine MAC aims to make it so. The company will provide a good line of communication between the yard and Mainprize Offshore, reducing any delays to the build, while overseeing the installation of all systems on the vessel ensuring it is built in line with the contract, specification and rules.

Bob Mainprize from Mainprize Offshore added “Marine MAC has been fantastic in the contract stages and we look forward to them being our strategic partner in the build of MO5. This is the first time we have had an exclusive and experienced owners representative.”

MO5 will be a high speed aluminium crew transfer vessel, 26m in length, built to BV Wind Farm Service Ship S1 and designed by Walker Marine Design. James Walker of Walker Marine Design said “We’re very much looking forward to the build of MO5 and having Marine MAC involved is going to improve efficiencies between the yard, Mainprize Offshore and ourselves. The design is different from the previous vessels and we’re excited for the public to see it.”

At the time of writing details such as the builder were still commercially sensitive and yet to be announced. Aluminium Marine Consultants on the Isle of Wight built Mainprize’s MO4.
