RIB for Spanish customs
UK–headquartered professional and rescue boat manufacturer Vanguard Marine has recently commissioned one of its TX-540 Deep V RIBs for the Spanish Customs Service in Palma De Mallorca. The 5.4 metre RIB will act as a support boat for their Surveillance Offshore Patrol Vessel ‘Gavilan IV‘.
Using polyurethane tubes, the RIB’s inventory includes a single hoisting point, an automatic self righting system and a 100 litre under deck fuel tank. The deep V hull is pu foam filled and therefore unsinkable even in the unlikely event of a complete tube deflation. The RIB is powered by a Mercury 100hp outboard, which Vanguard claims will enable it to achieve speeds in excess of 40 knots.
